The book Nós de Axé tells a story about a classic childhood theme: enchantment. A magic wand, the cape of the superhero, in this case the a powerful bracelet related to an entity named "Senhor do Bonfim", those are present in this kind of fairy tale. Nós de Axé presents: legends, traditions, respect to differences, and the idea that "nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed", in a way which relates them to the universe of Afro Brazilian Culture. The colourful illustrations by Paulica Santos are an invitation to get to know Brazil, the state of Bahia and its traditions, such as the water cleaning of the steps of Senhor do Bonfim church, the offering of a basket full of “cocadas” (a coconut candy) by a grandmother, or the practice of Capoeira, among others.
